In broad terms we would say that the work of Angel Gustavo finds itself in a triangle between impressionism, expressionism and surrealism with a deep technical knowledge combined with a provoking creativity. He dominates all fields of Visual Art, Murals, Portrait, free work both large and small format and sculptures in bronze and iron.
His painting is supported by a brilliant domain of color and with a realistic drawing in his portraits and in his other work he allows himself to prioritize the rhythm of the anatomy over the forms, always respecting them and creating an optical illusion much more attractive to the spectator. Only those who dominate the perfection of design can create this illusion.
If a choice had to be made between the different ways of expressing himself, one could say that the murals were the culmination for his balanced compositions, rhythm and creativity. In this field he has always been compared to Mexican muralists such as Siqueiros, Orozco and especially to the Equadorian Guayasamín.
In his ultimate era he also painted the frames of the paintings in such a way that allowed him to make the figures appear to come out of the painting with the intention of invading the space of the spectator and make him participate in what the artist wants to express. Much like Vincent van Gogh in his later days, Angel Gustavo evolved in using a deeper and brighter powerful spectrum of colors.
